HTCC will head back to the Schuylkill River on Sunday for its second weekend of racing in the Manny Flick Series. All athletes are required to arrive at the trailer 2 hours prior to their race time. Please remember to bring extra clothes to the trailer for after your race.

In the first race of the day, the two Jack's (Jack S and Jack H) dominated the boys freshman double event, finishing 15 seconds ahead of second place. Alex, Erica, Portia, and Gillian followed the boys with a great row in the girls freshman quad event, finishing in a close second place. In the boys freshman quad event, Matt, Tristan, Nick, and Nolan surged ahead of the field to take first place by 7 seconds. Mike, Jack M, Anthony, and Will were fighting their way into third place but, unfortunately, a broken oar forced them out of the event early. With no other novice singles entered, Mackenzie raced in the JV event and really stepped up, finishing in second place after only 1 week in the single. In possibly the closest finish of the day, Aidan and Vince fought back from an early deficit to take first place in the boys JV double, winning by only 0.12 seconds! The varsity boys returned from senior trip on Friday night and got right to work. Parker finished in third place in a tough varsity single race. In the last race of the day, Erik, Duff, Dan, and Luke took second place in the varsity quad. HTCC will return to the Schuylkill River this Sunday for Manny Flick 3. GO HAWKS!!! HTCC will head to the Schuylkill River on Sunday to kick off the spring racing season with Manny Flick 2. It looks like it will be rainy and chilly so bring extra clothes to stay warm and change into after the race. I am sorry to announce the First Flick is cancelled so there will be no racing this weekend. The city asked the PSRA to cancel due to the amount of snow and ice at the venue.
Practice will be at the BOATHOUSE today (3/17) at 3:30. Be sure to dress warm.
The river is still frozen so practice will be in the erg room today at 3:30.

What's a bit of snow when the water is open and the first regatta a week away? HT Crew rowers didn't let a few flurries keep them off the Cooper on Friday. It may be hard to spot the boats in swirling white stuff, but they are out there - determined, powerful and resilient. |
