HT Crew made quite a splash at the 2016 Haddon Township Block Party. The ergs were especially popular and we may get calls to start a 'toddler farm team'. There was good natured competition, even an impromptu race with fire fighters. The day also saw the launch of two fall fundraising activities: Coloring Night with Vera and Holiday Windfall, an offsite 50-50 that saw last year's winner take home more than $1,800. HW tickets will soon be available for sale online or you can contact event organizer Jen McGarry at [email protected]. Reserve November 4th, 7pm for the Vera Bradley themed Coloring Night and Raffle. It was great to see so many new rowers and a fair number of students who just wanted to learn more about the sport. We were busy giving tours, so there wasn't much time for photo taking - but we were still able to take a few. Practice is ON as scheduled tomorrow. Make sure you wear sun screen and bring a water bottle!
All are welcome to attend HT Crew Club's Open House on Saturday, September 10th from 10am to Noon at the Camden Boathouse on the Cooper River. This is home based for the team. It's where we practice and where our boats are stored. The Open House is a chance to examine the fleet, talk with coaches about the upcoming season, meet other members and better understand odd crew lingo (rigging, crabs, skying, scull and sweep). There may even be a chance to get on the water.
