Championship season is here! HT Rowing will compete in the State Championship on Cooper River this Saturday, followed by the Cooper Cup on Sunday. It will be a busy weekend so be sure to wear sunscreen, eat well, and stay hydrated. All athletes must arrive 90 minutes prior to race time. Please see below for the weekend's schedule and lineups:

JV Quad of Grace McHugh, Athena Constantakos, Jacqui Weber and Gina Gerber power past the competition to take first in their heat at Manny Flick 4, April 24th on Schuylkill River, Philadelphia. Hawks are taking a brief vacation this weekend before their 2-a-day practices over spring break as they prepare for the 5th and final Manny Flick Regatta on April 24th. Team is looking to build upon its success from last Sunday where the Girls JV Quad took first place (photo on right) and third place finishes were posted by Caroline Reich in the Varsity Single and by Julian Craft and Thomas McHugh in the JV Double.
It was also a successful weekend for HTR alum who are now rowing for their college teams and delivering the same impressive results they did as HT Hawks. See full list below. Knecht Cup-Cooper River Jack Haigh ’20- Silver Medalist in Men’s Second Varsity Eight-Marist University Maya Jacobsen ‘21- Gold Medal in Women’s Freshman/Novice Eight-Drexel University Olivia Hollingsworth ’21-Finished 4th Overall in the Women’s Second Varsity Four- University of Delaware Morgan Van Dexter ’18- First Place Finish in the Women’s Second Eight- Drexel University Occoquan Collegiate Invitational- Occoquan Reservoir, Fairfax, VA Nick Perks ‘20- Takes 1st place in the second varsity 8, narrowly beating Navy for the Drexel Dragons Mathews Trophy and Leonard Cup- Ithaca, NY Jack Savell ’20- Takes 1st place in the Men’s Varsity Lightweight 8 by beating Penn for the Cornell Big Red and winning the Mathews Trophy and Leonard Cup.  HT Rowing Board members and crew parents Janet Savell and Don Hollingsworth draw the winning ticket in front of HT Municipal Building. Congratulations to Judy Boldurian who held the winning ticket (#0331) in HT's Restaurant Row Raffle. Judy's ticket won her more than $500 in gift certificates to the best in area dining. Restaurant Row is a new fundraiser for the team and one that is destined to return. The event raised more than $4500 that has been earmarked for much needed equipment upgrades. HT Rowing will return to the Schuylkill for the 4th Flick on Sunday. The girls will start the day for the Hawks with the boys racing in the afternoon. Unfortunately, due to the steady rain this week the flow of the river, combined with the accumulation of debris on the course, all freshman/novice events have been canceled. We would still like all athletes to come and support their teammates. Everyone racing must arrive at the trailer two hours prior to race time.
