HTCC will return to the water on Sunday for the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta! This is our last head race of the fall season before sprint racing begins at Braxton and Frostbite. The trailer will be parked at the Three Angels so plan accordingly when timing your arrival. All athletes need to arrive at the trailer 2 hours prior to racing. Make sure you dress for the weather!

Click HERE for event parking map. WELL DONE Kara and Olivia who represented Haddon Township Crew at the 2015 Head of the Charles regatta held this past weekend in Boston, MA. More than 776 clubs took part in this year's race that featured 2,222 entries for the 2-day international, rowing competition. It is quite an accomplishment for HTCC to compete in the HOC and we also take pride in the fact that this is the 3rd year in a row that HTCC has participated in one of the largest regattas in the US. Racing season is finally here!! We will begin on the Schuylkill River this Saturday, in what looks to be a beautiful day, with the Navy Day Regatta. This is a 4000m head race, so crews will not be lined up side-by-side. They will be sending boats off every 15 seconds and results will be determined based on time. Our schedule is fairly condensed so it won't be an all day event. Athletes need to arrive at the trailer 2 hours prior to their race time to rig the boat, warm up, and launch.
Also, this is just a quick reminder that the trailer is like our locker room, so family members and friends should wait at the tent until the athletes are dismissed prior to their race. Many of slots along Kelly Drive will probably be taken up by Food Trailers. Colleges to race in the am; high school in the afternoon. Congratulations to rowers Rebecca Brown and Dan McGarry on their recent election as Team Captains for HT Crew. In this leadership position, Rebecca and Dan will play an important role in helping to keep rowers well informed about team matters and they also provide important support and assistance to the coaches.
You are either feeling it's much to soon to start racing or it's about time. Either way - our first regatta has arrived. The Navy Day Regatta is this Saturday, October 10th, on Schuylkill River. The schedule will be posted later this week. Parents can find a lot of background information about regattas by clicking on the 2015 Fall Season tab above. There are instructions on where/when rowers need to show up, directions, parking instructions and generally what to expect. There will be water practice today, but the bus will remain on site should coaches decide to end practice early. We are CANCELLING WATER PRACTICE for tomorrow, Friday, Oct. 2nd because of weather forecast calling for high winds and heavy downpour. Tomorrow, rowers are to report to the erg room.
