Head of the Schuylkill Regatta

Congratulations to everyone on another great day on the Schuylkill.  In case you haven't seen the results, here are a few highlights from racing:

Rachel started off the day with the team's first medal.  In only her second race as a member of the HTCC Rachel won GOLD in the u17 gig race!  Congrats on a fantastic performance!

Alex, Jim, Nick, and Duff led our second flight of races with a strong performance in the u19 quad, missing out on a bronze medal by only 1.49 seconds!  We are definitely looking forward to watching our varsity guys continue to progress as the season moves forward!

Emily, Nicole, Sara, and Cassidy capped off our second flight with a bronze in the u19 quad, only 12 seconds off of first place!

To finish the day, Lauren and Maddie brought home another bronze in a strong performance in the u17 double!  Don't worry girls, your medals will come in the mail this week!

Special thanks to all of the parents for running the food tent and supporting the team in so many other ways.  Also, a very special thanks to Mike Reece for traveling to Philly three times today to drive the boat trailer!  It was definitely a huge help and was greatly appreciated!

Lastly, the announcement I'm sure all the kids have been waiting for..........
Practice is suspended until further notice.  We are unable to use the erg room or the boathouse until at least Wednesday.  I will keep you posted on when we will resume training.  In the meantime, I would definitely not be opposed to some improvised on-your-own workouts over the next few days!
