Its Stotes time!! HTCC will head to the Schuylkill River this weekend to face off against over 970 entries from over 130 high schools in the largest high school regatta in the world! It is supposed to be summer-like temperatures so be sure to bring your sunscreen and stay hydrated!! The boat trailer will be located at the Three Angels so athletes should be dropped off where the road closure begins (Grant Statue).
Thursday Practice: We will be practicing on the Schuylkill on Thursday afternoon. Be prepared for lots of traffic as most teams will be practicing around the same time. Athletes should leave school at 11:00, grab a QUICK lunch and then head over. As soon as your whole lineup is there and your boat is rigged you can practice. Once you get off the water and strap your boat down you may leave. You do not need to contact the school, everyone is already signed out with an approved absence. Friday/Saturday: Pay Attention to when your races are, some people have heats and semis on Friday and finals on Saturday. Other people will have heats on Friday and semis and finals on Saturday. You must arrive at the boat trailer 2 hours prior to race time. DO NOT BE LATE. As stated earlier, this is a huge regatta so lines for the dock will be long and you will need to launch early for your race. DO NOT BE LATE!! I've never participated in any regatta competition, but I've watched them quite a lot. I don't know why, I just love watching all those boat are sailing in one time. It makes me feel some strange feelings, like I'm living long long ago. Comments are closed.
